Conditions
Foreigner shall have attained the age of eighteen (18).
Testing for communicable diseases (AIDS, hepatitis B and C, malaria, Bilharzia).
The validity period of the foreigner’s passport shall not be less than six (6) months.
The foreigner shall not be guilty of any shameful act and shall not be subject to any comment.
The approval of the foreigner's entry visa must have been obtained through the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.
Companies that bring foreign labor to households can obtain residency cards for foreign workers sponsored by their own company. The company bears all legal and financial responsibility for foreign workers.
The existence of an employment contract between a foreign labor company with a foreigner and the household that applied for the foreigner, which is two (2) years old, must be approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs / Labor Directorate.

A foreigner whose employment contract with an employer expires after two (2) years may apply for renewal of the residency card sponsored by the householder with a new legal employment contract, without reapplying for a company contract.
The sponsor (householder or company) must present at the relevant residency directorate one (1) month prior to the expiration of the residency card in order to renew the residency card or terminate the sponsorship at the householder's responsibility, Otherwise, the owner will be subject to a late penalty of (20,000) thousand dinars per day.

Foreign labor companies can obtain residency cards for foreigners on the sponsorship of their own company and bear all the legal and financial responsibility of the foreigner.
Work will be done on the statement No. (1) of 2021 on the issuance of electronic visas and residency cards, and the Foreigners Residency Law No. (76) of 2017 of the Iraqi House of Representatives.

According to Directive No. (1) of 2021, the following guidelines for issuing electronic visas and residency permits in the Kurdistan Region:
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars for issuing a residence card.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residence administration fee for applying for a residency permit.
For residency card renewal:
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars in exchange for renewal of all types.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administrative fee for renewal of residency.
The penalty for late renewal of residency card for each day of delay is (20,000) twenty thousand dinars.
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars for issuing a residence card.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residence administration fee for applying for a residency permit.

Procedures
Apply Online:
First, the Residency and Visa Affairs Company submits the application through the online residence card application system and scans all the documents.
After 72 working hours, the approval of the residency card will be issued online through the same system to the company that brings foreign labor to households. The foreigner can visit the central laboratory for health tests
After (48) working hours, the test results will be returned to the relevant Residency Directorate, The foreign visits the room for issuing residence cards to foreigners to verify the results of the tests.
visits the accounting room, in order to pay the prescribed fees.
Visits the control room, for the purpose of final audit of the transaction.
Visits the residency card room in the presence of the foreigner, in order to get the residency card and complete the transaction.
Offline Applications:
If the application is submitted through the householder, he/she will visit the specialized residency directorate and submit the application to the legal department in order to verify his/her transaction and approve form numbers (15 and 16).
Visits the Foreigners Room in the Foreign Labor Department, in order to scan all documents and send the name of the foreigner to the Central Laboratory online.
After the test, the results will be returned to the specialized residency directorate after 48 hours. The householder and the foreign labor will visit the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs/Labor Directorate for an interview.
Visits the Foreigners Room at the Residency Directorate, in order to scan the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs interview approval letter and verify the results of the health test referred to the accounting department.
He visits the accounting room, in order to pay the prescribed fees.
Visits control room, in order to verify final transaction.
Visits the residency card room to get the residency card and complete the transaction.
