Issuance and renewal of residency cards for foreigners working in private universities and hospitals in the Kurdistan Region. This card is valid for six months or one year and can be renewed after that period.

Conditions
Foreigner shall have attained the age of eighteen (18).
Testing for communicable diseases (AIDS, B and C hepatitis, malaria, Bilharzia).
The foreigner must be registered with the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, Social Security Directorate, Only for a CEO or shareholder with a stake of not less than 20%, an employment contract and social security letter are not required.
The validity period of the foreign person’s passport shall not be less than six (6) months.
For foreigners from countries that require an advance visa to enter the Kurdistan Region, their residency card must be requested by the same Agency that issued the visa..
Must have residency support in the Kurdistan Region.
When renewing the residency card, the foreigner must renew the support of the Social Security Administration and the employment contract.
If the transaction is to renew the residency card, the old residency card is required, he must apply for the renewal of the residency card before the expiration date, otherwise he will be subject to a late penalty of (20,000) twenty thousand dinars per day.
Documents
Letter of support of the foreigner from the institution where he/she works.
One (1) photograph of the foreigner.

Price
According to Directive No. (1) of 2021, the following guidelines for issuing electronic visas and residency permits in the Kurdistan Region:
For foreigners who do not need to obtain a visa in advance to enter the Kurdistan Region:
- (300,000) three hundred thousand dinars for converting visit visa to residency card.
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars in exchange for issuing residency cards.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administration fee for applying for residency permit.
For foreigners who need to obtain a visa in advance to enter the Kurdistan Region:
- (1,000,000) One million conversion of visit visa to residency card.
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars in exchange for issuing residency cards.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administration fee for applying for residency permit.
For residency card renewal:
- (150,000) one hundred and fifty thousand dinars in exchange for renewal of all types.
- (25,000) Twenty-five thousand dinars residency administrative fee for renewal of residency.
The penalty for late renewal of residency card for each day of delay is (20,000) twenty thousand dinars.

Procedures
First, the university or private hospital submits the application and scans all the documents through the online residency card application system.
After 72 working hours, the approval of the residency card will be issued online through the same system to the university or private hospitals. The foreigner can visit the laboratory for testing for communicable diseases (AIDS, hepatitis B and C, malaria, Bilharzia).
After (48) working hours, the test results will be returned to the Relevant residency Directorate. The employee will visit the Relevant room in issuing residency cards to private universities or hospitals, in order to verify the test results and prepare a receipt for payment of fees.
Visits the accounting room, in order to pay the prescribed fees.
Re-visits the issuance of residency cards to private universities or hospitals, in order to return accounting receipts and scans.
Visits the printing department to print the residency card and complete the transaction.
